As global attention to net-zero carbon emissions and energy security increases, photovoltaic power generation is developing rapidly in the Middle East due to its rich sunlight resources and vast territory. This article will analyze energy trends in the region, including the current status and development of major demand countries, as well as possible influencing factors in the future.

However, the recent political issues caused by the Israeli-Palestinian war have had a certain impact on local demand. Nonetheless, as large-scale projects in major demand countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates continue to be carried out, and the government continues to launch new large-scale tenders, the overall demand in the future is expected to remain optimistic. The current situation and development of the three largest photovoltaic demand countries in the Middle East:

At a specific country level, Turkey has made significant developments in the photovoltaic field in recent years and has become a leader in the Middle East. Its policy promotion and the advantages of local module production capacity have benefited Turkey in photovoltaic manufacturing. The latest decree further stimulates residents' willingness to install photovoltaic power generation facilities by providing fixed electricity price subsidies for up to 10 years and additional local component subsidies, and is expected to reach the target of a total photovoltaic installed capacity of 59.9 GW in 2035.

As the world's largest oil exporter, Saudi Arabia is actively seeking to diversify its energy sources and reduce its dependence on oil and natural gas. To this end, the government has formulated a series of renewable energy policies and set a goal of achieving 40GW of photovoltaic installed capacity by 2030. Since 2017, the National Renewable Energy Plan has conducted four rounds of large-scale photovoltaic bidding, and many projects are still under construction. Regular bidding will be maintained in the future to support overall demand. Cooperation with overseas manufacturers will further promote the development of Saudi Arabia's photovoltaic sector.

The photovoltaic market in the UAE also continues to boom. The government's active promotion and support for photovoltaic projects has caused more and more companies and investors to focus on this. Recently, Emirates Water and Electricity Company has officially launched the bidding process for the 1.5 GW AI Khazna photovoltaic project, with the goal of adding an average of 1 GW of photovoltaic power plants per year over the next ten years. In addition, the government launched a net metering policy and a FIT electricity price system, and passed a new federal law to regulate the connection of distributed projects to the grid. These measures are expected to further promote the growth in demand for distributed projects.
